Confirmation Service Projects

Service projects are a very important part of the Confirmation process. They are a great introduction to helping others both in our parish and local communities.  Our hope is that the candidates will continue to engage in these opportunities to give back to others and becomes part of your life; especially through your high school years.

St James Parish has many opportunities for you to experience different aspects of volunteering.  All of the projects are supervised by volunteers and these ministries would appreciate your commitment to their projects.

You will be responsible for contacting the person organizing the project, having your Individual Service Project Form signed on the day of the event and completing the reflection section on the form.

Post the date and time on your calendar! (using your cell phone is a great way to have your schedule at hand)

Your sponsor is welcome to participate in any of the projects of your choice.  It is a great way to include him/her in your preparation.  (Please note: not all projects require parent/sponsor participation).

Take time to talk with your sponsor about a project you can do together such as: "Walk/run/bike for cause".    Your sponsor may already be involved in something at their own parish, community or workplace that you can participate in.
